Selection Calculator: a workflow with 4 steps, starting with Right-click a selection and ending with Show the answer.

  1. Right-click a selection (Context Menu — open its doc page)Note: Adds this workflow to the right-click menu whenever you have text selected.
  2. Get selected text (In-page action — open its doc page)Note: Reads the full text you highlighted on the page. The context-menu event only carries a short, truncated copy, so this node gets the complete selection reliably.
  3. Evaluate the expression (Code — open its doc page)Note: Python: tokenizes the expression and evaluates it with a shunting-yard parser — only numbers and + - * / % ( ) are allowed, never eval. The last line is the result.
  4. Show the answer (Show Notification — open its doc page)Note: Shows the expression and its result in a notification.

Overview

Highlight a math expression, right-click, and get the answer in a notification — evaluated safely, no eval.

Good for

doing quick math from numbers on a page without opening a calculator.

How it works

  1. Right-click a selection

Adds this workflow to the right-click menu whenever you have text selected.

  2. Get selected text

Reads the full text you highlighted on the page. The context-menu event only carries a short, truncated copy, so this node gets the complete selection reliably.

  3. Evaluate the expression

Python: tokenizes the expression and evaluates it with a shunting-yard parser — only numbers and + - * / % ( ) are allowed, never eval. The last line is the result.

  4. Show the answer

Shows the expression and its result in a notification.
