What stays on your device

AWFlow keeps data in two places, this browser and, only if you sign in, your account. Here is what goes where, and what goes online.

Two places

  • This browser: a database on this device only. Nothing here is uploaded.
  • Your AWFlow account: only when you’re signed in, and only for the items you save to the cloud: workflows and their runs, credentials, plus your profile and settings.

Chats, agents, teams and projects, agent memory, knowledge bases, AI providers and their keys, and Data Store values always stay in this browser. In a local workspace there is no account, so everything stays in the browser.

Signed in: cloud by default

Signed-in users choose where new workflows and credentials are saved in Settings › Preferences › Default storage location: Cloud (the default) or Local. You can still choose each time you create something. Cloud credentials are stored encrypted on the AWFlow server, which holds the key so it can give them back to you. If a secret must never leave your device, keep that credential local.

AI calls

On-device models run entirely in your browser. Cloud providers are called directly from your browser with your own key; AWFlow doesn’t run or relay those calls. Ollama runs on your own computer.

Usage statistics

Anonymous usage counts and crash reports are on by default, and a notice tells you the first time you open the app. Each event is tied to a random install ID, not to you or your account, and you can reset it. Workflow names, steps and data, credentials, page URLs, search text, your email and your name are never sent. Switch both off in Settings › Privacy.

Key takeaways

  1. Chats, agents, memory, knowledge bases and AI keys stay in this browser.
  2. Signed in, new workflows and credentials are saved to the cloud by default; you can choose Local.
  3. Anonymous usage statistics can be switched off in Settings › Privacy.
