Lesson 6 5 min

Append rows to a sheet

Send each item to Google Sheets as a new row, and make sure a failed write never goes unnoticed.

Try it in AWFlow

Add the node

Add Google Sheets and pick your credential in Credential. Set Resource to Data and the operation to Append Values into Worksheet. Choose the Spreadsheet and Worksheet. For Range, a span covering your table such as A:D is enough: Google adds the row after the last filled one.

Map the values

Under Data, each field is named after a header in row 1. Drag values from the Input panel, for example {{ $input.title }} into Title. The node writes one row each time it runs, so a list of items becomes one row per item.

Value Input Option: User Entered reads values as if you typed them (=SUM(A2:A9) becomes a formula and 2026-09-10 a date); Raw stores them exactly as text.

Catch failures

If Google returns an error, the node doesn’t stop the run: it outputs success: false and the message in error. Add an IF on success when a missed row matters.

Values in the wrong columns? Row 1 has no headers, or different ones from the Data fields. Fix the headers, then pick the worksheet again so Data shows the new columns.

Key takeaways

  1. Data › Append Values into Worksheet writes one row each time the node runs.
  2. User Entered reads values as if typed; Raw stores them exactly as text.
  3. On an error the node outputs success false and the run goes on; check it with IF.
